Little things you can do to have a better day

Hello lovelies. I think we all know those days where you just wake and up and you don't feel too good. I know those days all too well, so as you can see I have decided to write about how you can make your day better.

Things I do to feel better:

Eat well:

I think it is so important to have a good and healthy start to the day. I am most certainly guilty of having biscuits or chocolate or something in the morning which is never a good idea, but especially on the days you are already feeling bad eating these kind of foods is never good. Yes, it may be what you really want and you may think it will make you feel better but in reality from experiance I know that later I get guilty about it. So with my breakfast I usually try to include an apple or an orange. Or whatever fruit is in the house.

                                     Exercise:

If I wake up in the morning and immediately feel terrible, I will make myself go for a run or do a workout or something. I do this because I like running (I don't do it as much as I should) it makes me feel in control of how far I can push myself. And on the plus side it makes me feel good afterwards, until the next morning when I can hardly walk. But I guess as they say "better sore than sorry".

Showering:

I think this is pretty much a given, especially after exercising, but showering or having a bath is just incredibly relaxing. It can make you forget why you're not having a good day. Especially if you blast music, I love Lightning by Little Mix or Shower by Becky G. And in just general it's really relaxing.

Make yourself feel comfortable:

By this I mean wearing  something you feel good in. When I'm at home and not doing much I love to wear leggings or tracksuit pants because they are so comfy! When I'm having a bad day, I like to wear something nice on top and not just a normal t-shirt! Clothes for me makes me feel so much better! Because you can be so creative with them and I love it.

Do something that makes you feel good:

This could be absolutely anything, when I'm at home I don't usually wear makeup because I'm not going anywhere, so I don't feel the need. However sometimes when I get really down in the dumps. Putting on makeup can really make me feel better. I love makeup anyway because there are so many different looks you can go for. What I'm trying to say is whatever you like doing and whatever makes you happy do it! Whether it's makeup, reading, writing, blogging, youtubing, playing sports, singing. No matter what it is if you like it and it makes you feel good do it!!

Fragrances

This probably sounds incredibly random, but even if I'm just sitting at home I love wearing perfume and body mist's! They can just change my mood instantaneously. Also nothing beats smelling nice! These are the fragrances I've been loving at the moment.

I've tried to find the name of the Ralph Lauren one, but I think it's just called Ralph Lauren. Nevertheless I love it. It's a very strong scent, I don't know how to describe it but I LOVE IT. The one next to that is of course the Zoella Let's Spritz. You can see that it is well loved considering half is almost gone (tearing up). I love this so much. It's a lovely floral scent.
And last but not least is the Britney Spears Curious. I feel like this has been out for ages, and I must say  I love it.

Take the time to relax:

It has to be said, this is my favourite time of everyday. When I'm not feeling good I tend to listen to sad music and just stay in bed or in my room. And that never makes me feel any better. I love watching YouTube. Or movies! Again, whatever makes you feel better!

In my natural habitat. I love watching YouTube when I feel down.
One of my all time favourite YouTubers is of course gorgeous Miss Zoe Sugg!
She can just make my day a million times better. I love her.
Also, please excuse the fact that my hair is bigger than my future. But what can you do.

Enjoy the little things:

When I'm having a horrible day I can be so irritable and moody. This is going to sound incredibly childish but you should know me by now ahahah. Sometimes I will just go to my bed and cuddle with who I like to call GiGi. Don't judge me ahaha. Anyway the moral of this is to find what makes you smile.

Meet GiGi. How cute is she!?

That is mainly everything I do to make myself happier. I hope you enjoyed reading this! And I hope that if you've had a bad day that this can make you feel better! Stay strong darling.

Lots of Love,
                     Fiona x

My top 10 skincare and makeup products of 2015!

Hello lovelies, how are you all? I hope you're having a fantastic day! Also I hope you had an amazing Christmas holiday and a lovely new years! It's crazy that it's already 2016! Everything is going so fast!

I also just want to say a masssiveee thank you for 3,000 views! It's crazy! When I first started this blog, I would never in my wildest dreams have thought it would have hit that! Thank you to those of you who have been so supportive about this blog and just being so friendly! Thank you meaans soo much!!

This post may look familiar to you, I posted this yesterday and if you follow me on twitter (lookitsfifi) you may know that this took three hours to edit! I uploaded it, then went to have a shower and when I came back it was gone. It just vanished into thin air. I was so annoyed. Words can't even. I'm now ready to re-write it. So lets get started!!.

So these are going to be the products that I am going to be talking about today:

From left to right:

  • Lipstick: Rimmel London Kate Moss Shade (107)
  • Mascara: Maybelline lash sensational (black as black)
  • Bronzer: Rimmel London Natural Sun Bronze (022 sun bronze)
  • Powder: No7 Light pressed powder (fair)
  • Concealer: Rimmel London Wake Me Up (010 Ivory)
  • Foundation: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum: (52 vanilla)
  • Primer: Rimmel London long lasting
  • Moisturiser: Simple kind to skin hydrating
  • Face Wash: Simple kind to skin moisturising
  •  Eye Shadow: Sleek 'In the Storm'.

Skin Care:

1.Face Wash

So this is the face wash I use on a daily basis. This is the Simple Kind To skin Moisturising Facial Wash. This is one of the best face wash's I have used. I have dry sensitive skin and this is perfect! After I use it my skin feels so hydrated and moisturised. I really love it.

2. Moisturiser

Staying with the brand Simple, this is the moisturiser I have been using for like two years now. This is the Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser I loveee this! Like I said before I have dry/ sensitive skin and this really leaves my skin feeling so hydrated and it's amazing. This is going to sound over dramatic and I'm sorry but, without this in my skin routine my skin goes back to being dry and flaky. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated all day. Considering that I have had this since the same time last year shows that it is great at lasting especially since I use it twice a day. I really do love this.

Makeup:
So many of you may know that I am a little bit obsessed with makeup. So here are a few of my favourite products that I have been really loving this year! These aren't in order of my favourites, they are in order of how I would apply them to my face!

3. Primer

So in order to have a good base for my makeup, I use this primer. It is the Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer. I really like this primer, it makes my makeup last so much longer! I really like it! I think it gives more of a dewy finish (which I personally like).

4.Foundation

So in my opinion finding a good foundation for your skin type and that suits you is one of the most important things and also one of the hardest things when it comes to makeup. I have been using the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum (52 Vanilla) don't confuse this with the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation. The serum and foundation are both aimed at two different skin types I think. The serum is for dry skin and the foundation is for normal/oily (not 100% sure).
This foundation is a little too dark for me (what's new) but putting that aside it's a really good foundation. It doesn't cling to my dry patches instead it effortlessly glides over them. I would say this foundation is a dewy finish (which I like) also I would say it has a very light couverage. One thing I don't like about this foundation is how strong the fragrance is, don't get me wrong the fragrance is nice, it's just the first time I put it on my skin it stung thankfully it only lasted for a minute. My skin isn't that sensitive but with that aside, I love this! It gives such a natural finish!

5.Concealer:
This is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer (010 Ivory).
I really like this concealer, it covers up the redness under my eyes really nicely, and it also conceals blemishes really nicely!
However one thing I don't like about this is that it is really bad for creasing so I would definitely recommend setting this with a powder after you apply it! Other than that it's very good!

6.Powder

I'm really sorry that this picture is slightly unfocused. This is the No7 Light Pressed Powder (Fair). I'm not a massive powder fan just because I prefer a dewy finish, but for setting under eye concealer or concealer in general this is so good! I don't feel like my concealer creases! I don't put this all over my face just because I don't like a matte finish, but I'm sure if you wanted to do that it would be fine too!

7.Bronzer

This picture also turned out blurry! I'm really sorry! Anyways this is the Rimmel London Natural Bronzer (022 sunbronze). I am not a massive bronzer person if I'm being honest I am terrified of it! I am all about natural makeup and bronzer scares me! Anyway I bought this one in the most natural shade I could find and this bronzer is actually amazing! It puts a natural 'bronze' (I guess) on your face! I like it.

8 Eye Shadow

I am massively obsessed with eyeshadow, it is my favourite part of makeup! I love natural eyes so anything related with browns, golds just light nudes also these colours complement my eyes.
This is the Storm Palette By Sleek. I love this eyeshadow so much! It goes everywhere with me, on special occasions, day to days. Just basically everywhere. I use the top line more frequently then I use the second just because the bottom colours are a bit out of my comfort zone, and I'm not that great at makeup. I love how shimmery, and long-lasting the eyeshadows in this palette are. I even use the second colour on the top which is 'Snow Storm' on my cheekbones for a highlight and it actually works really well. I just overall love this palette.

9.Mascara

Mascara for me is one of the most important parts of my makeup routine. This is the Maybelline Lash Sensational (Black As Black) I have really short eyelashes so most of the time mascaras don't do anything for me. However you'll be happy to know that this one is different. I love this mascara soo much!It really makes them longer and curls them so they actually look like they actually exist. I really like the wand on this mascara, it has a shorter side of bristles and then a longer side of bristles. ( I have a picture below this one) I'll explain how I use it beside that picture.

Basically I use the shorter bristles as a first coat, this is really good. It really gets all of the hairs and pulls them upwards! There is no 'correct' way of applying mascara everyone has their own ways that works for them! Personally I like to blink on the brush, and then wiggle the wand over my eyelashes. This works best for me. I then flip the brush around and use the longer bristles and apply the same method. This is what really pushes my eyelashes upwards and in my opinion really curls them! Like I said before this I found it so difficult to find a mascara that actually made a difference to my eyes! I really love this!

10.Lipstick

Last but most certainly not least! LIPSTICK! This is one of my favourite parts of makeup! I just love how many looks wearing lipstick can change and make so beautiful! So I bought this a month ago because one of my all time favourite youtuber/blogger  Zoe Sugg highly recommends this lipstick! So I said I might as well try it! This is the Rimmel London Kate Moss (107). I love this shade so much! It is so beautiful, and actually looks nice on me other red lipsticks don't look nice! It apply's very nicely and is gorgeous! It also smells amazing which is always a bonus! The one downfall it has is, that it dries soo quickly! Like super fast so I would definitely recommend putting some lip balm underneath it! Other than that I really love it.

So I guess that is the end of My Favourite Skincare and Makeup Products of 2015. I really hope you enjoyed it! I am so sorry about it deleting the last time, I have honestly no idea why and hopefully the same doesn't happen this time! Thank you so much for reading it and again thanks so much for 3k views! That is shocking!

Until next time
   Lots of Love,

Learning to love yourself and dealing with hurtful comments

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a good day.
I've been pretty unproductive today not going to lie. This studying is seriously not working out!!!
I will get it under control (eventually).

This morning when I woke up, I checked my social medias as per usual. I went  onto ask.fm (my name on there is Fiona McNamara if you want to ask me some questions) and I had gotten a question (well more of a statement) that said 'You're ugly with and without makeup, and seriously do something about your eyebrows'. I'm not going to sit here and say it didn't hurt me, because honestly it did. A lot of people ask me, why do you keep ask.fm if you get hate, I always say that I keep it if some people need advice and are too shy to ask on messenger or whatever. I'm fine with the hate most of the time cuz it only makes me stronger. And I hope that it inspires people not to get down because of haters.
I didn't answer the question because I didn't want the person who wrote it to get that satisfaction.  Before I did my makeup this morning I took a selfie (I don't wear makeup every day but it so happened that I was going somewhere) and after I was finished my makeup I took another selfie. I used pic collage to put the two photos beside each other, and honestly I was quite a shocked. I do look a lot different. I have very pale, sensitive and dry skin (and very freckled as well) so when I do go to town or whatever I do like covering it with a foundation.
When I looked at the comparison between the two photos, what that person had said I started to believe. Besides the fact that they are both very bad pictures I started listening to what the person had said. I began to feel really self conscious.
I felt really hurt and ugly.
I then thought, if that person was expecting me to look just as good without makeup as I do with makeup they were really kidding themselves. I have never looked at a girl and said 'wow she looks terrible without makeup'. Because in my opinion makeup enhances what you've already got (I'm not calling myself pretty or anything). I am a very self conscious person, and even if someone says my makeup is too dark I worry (I have really pale skin so it's hard to find a foundation that matches) if someone says something negative about me I start to believe it very quickly amd it really gets me down. But I'm not going to let this get me down. Why should this person have a right to put me down about how I look.
So just try to love how you look, with and without makeup (because you're beautiful with both, no matter what people say).If you're a boy that's reading this I know makeup isn't the best example of it for you (if you're a boy and wears makeup, good for you! I'm not trying to insult you if you do) but for you too, don't ever let people try and let you down over how you look.

I don't wear makeup to school (bar mascara sometimes) just because I try and give my skin a break, and because it takes way too long. I know a lot of girls who do wear makeup to school, and if you feel comfortable in it then by all means do so! And don't let someome tell you not to! And if you're someone that doesn't wear makeup to school, good for you too! Do you, and do what you feel comfortable with.

I'm so sick of society telling girls that they always have to look good, and that their eyebrows always have to be 'on fleek'. As you can see I have really thick and dark eyebrows. They are so so hard to mentain, like seriously. The amount of shit I get over them is redicilous. Why can't people just he accepting. Like it's my body, no one else's business. And the same goes for you, if someone is bullying  you about something got to do with your body, (or in general) and you happen to like it. Don't change for them. Chances are they could be jealous. (I'm not saying people are jealous over my eyebrows, they definitely aren't anyway) If you feel comfortable with something keep it.
I'll stop ranting now, sorry! Anyway moral of the blog: be confident in who you are.

I love you all, stay strong & confident! Xx
